RRB ALP 2026 Admit Card Released for 11,127 Posts
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB ALP 2026 CBT 1 admit card on 31 October 2026. The recruitment covers 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts, placing the current examination within a wider selection process that includes further testing, document verification and medical examination.
For applicants, the immediate priority is to download the hall ticket and prepare for the first computer-based test. Understanding the examination schedule, subject distribution and negative-marking rule is particularly important because CBT 1 is only the opening stage of this recruitment.
RRB ALP 2026 Admit Card and Examination Guide

The recruitment has moved beyond application submission, fee payment and the correction window into the examination phase. The application-status check, examination-city information and admit-card download serve separate purposes within that progression.
Candidates should use the hall-ticket download facility for the current examination stage while keeping the remaining selection requirements in view.
How to Download the RRB ALP Admit Card
The admit-card download process requires candidates to access the RRB ALP hall-ticket facility and enter the requested application details. These may include the Application Number and Date of Birth.
Once the admit card is available on screen, candidates can download, save or print it for reference.
- Visit the official website.
- Locate the RRB ALP Admit Card/Hall Ticket 2026 download link, or open the admit-card login page.
- Enter the required details, such as your Application Number and Date of Birth.
- Download, save or print the admit card.
Examination Schedule and Application Timeline
The CBT 1 examination is scheduled across three dates, so the overall examination window is the key immediate milestone. Earlier in the recruitment, online application submission and fee payment shared the same closing date, followed by a separate correction period.
That correction window came after registration closed; it was distinct from the original application period and has now ended. The schedule below traces these administrative steps through to the examination and pending result.

CBT 1 Subjects, Duration and Negative Marking
The examination contains 75 questions to be answered within 60 minutes. General Intelligence & Reasoning has the largest question allocation, while Mathematics and General Science carry equal numbers of questions.
Each correct answer earns one mark, while each wrong answer attracts a deduction of one-third of a mark. This makes accuracy an important part of time management: incorrect responses reduce the marks earned from correct answers.
| Subject | Questions |
|---|---|
| Mathematics | 20 |
| General Science | 20 |
| General Intelligence & Reasoning | 25 |
| General Awareness & Current Affairs | 10 |
| Total | 75 |
Selection Process Beyond the First Examination
The selection process includes two computer-based tests before the Computer-Based Aptitude Test. Document Verification and Medical Examination follow the testing stages.
The current hall ticket therefore relates to the beginning of the assessment process, rather than its conclusion. Candidates should distinguish the first examination from the subsequent testing and verification requirements.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT 1)
- Computer-Based Test (CBT 2)
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination (ME)
Qualification Routes and Age Requirement
The educational criteria provide alternative qualification routes rather than requiring every listed credential together. These routes combine school-level education with an ITI certificate or a specified engineering diploma, or provide eligibility through a specified engineering degree.
The age requirement uses a fixed calculation date, so candidates must assess their age against that date rather than the examination date.
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years, calculated as on 01 July 2026.
- ITI route: Class 10th/Matric examination passed with an ITI certificate.
- Diploma route: Class 10th with a diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering.
- Degree route: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering.
- The qualification must be from a recognized Board, University or Institute, as applicable.

Application Fees and Monthly Salary
The application-fee structure separates applicants into two payment groups. These charges belong to the completed application stage and should be distinguished from the present admit-card download process.
The listed monthly salary for the Assistant Loco Pilot post provides a separate employment-related reference for candidates assessing the recruitment.
- General/OBC/EWS application fee: ₹500.
- SC/ST/EBC/Female/Transgender application fee: ₹250.
- Assistant Loco Pilot salary: ₹24,904 per month.
